Ex-Man United Star Set To Join Arteta's Coaching Crew At Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is looking to enhance his backroom team and has his sights set on former Manchester United player Gabriel Heinze.

Currently, Arteta relies on assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Carlos Cuesta at the Emirates Stadium. However, due to Arsenal’s impressive performances this season, both assistants are attracting interest from other clubs. Stuivenberg has been linked to a potential managerial role at Ajax, while Cuesta is being considered by Norwich City.

As a result, Arteta is preparing for potential coaching changes and is in talks with Heinze to join the Arsenal coaching team. According to ESPN Argentina via Mirror, Heinze is being considered for the role and has engaged in discussions with Arteta.

Heinze, who played for United and Paris Saint-Germain, has multiple options, including managing Argentinian top-flight team San Lorenzo. Arteta hopes to persuade his former PSG teammate to join Arsenal’s coaching staff for the upcoming season.

The move depends on the futures of Stuivenberg and Cuesta, whose potential departures have prompted Arteta to seek out new coaching options. Although they aren’t the head coaches at Arsenal, the ongoing speculation about their futures has created uncertainty.

In February, Arteta addressed rumors regarding his assistants’ potential new roles, saying, “If that’s their will, you cannot stop them. I wouldn’t, no.” He emphasized the importance of a clear development path for all staff members to keep them motivated and invested.
